Beauty Queen Wannabe

I have always loved watching beauty pageants. I like competition. I like getting dressed up. So even though they are a little hokey, I am technically still a little girl who wants to grow up and be beautiful.

Well, I've found a way to get just a smidgen of that princess spotlight.

If you go to Walmart late at night, the lights are a little lower and the isles a little emptier. Go to the frozen section and wait for the isle to be completely empty. Then proceed slowly down the isle, careful to stay in the middle of the lane. As you go, there is a sensor that turns on the lights as you approach each glass door.

It's like the spotlights are coming on just for you.

Feel free to give the pageant wave as you go.

No bathing suit or evening gown necessary.

Heels optional.

It makes me stand a bit taller.

Until I round the corner to the check out.

Heehee. Would you believe we have no Wal-mart within a 45 minute drive from us? I wonder if any other stores do this? :)

I am cracking up!! You may not need an evening gown or bathing suit, but hopefully your clothes were Clinton & Stacy worthy ;)

yes, but you have Fred Meyer - a far superior store and one that will hopefully keep Wally World at bay. Oh how I miss Fred!!!! You'll have to try their freezers and let us know.

Do cute t-shirt with tank underneath, denim capris, and cute beaded shoes count? Okay, as I wrote that I was just thinking it screams Mommy trying to be cute. Oh well, at least I portray what I am!

No way! I'm going to have to try this tomorrow night when I'm there doing my grocery shopping. I tell ya what...there's nothing like the solitude & quiet I get while shopping alone. (Dh keeps the kids here so that I can shop in peace.) And now I find out that all this time I could've been shopping like a queen?! Wow...the things you learn in blogland!

That's too funny! Our Wallyworld is not the super kind, so no grocery section, but I hear rumor that the new one being built will have it. I'll have to check it out someday, hahaaa.
